Scott is a researcher extraordinaire, and hunts down information on cases with a keen eye for detail.
Born and raised in Denver and the southern part of Colorado, Scott received a BA from the University of Northern Colorado in Political Science. He received his law degree (Juris Doctorate) from Pacific Coast University School of Law.
After completing his undergraduate work, he joined the Peace Corps and served for over two years in Guatemala, Central America. There, he worked and lived in a rural area of the country primarily assisting the Agency for International Development in the introduction of methodology directed at increasing the production of basic grains among small farmers. He also helped train new volunteers arriving in the country. His experience in Guatemala served as an education of both the diversity and oneness of the human conscience.
After his return, Scott worked in the field of title insurance and related real estate related businesses, with a focus on delivering reliable, accurate data pertaining to real property transactions in various parts of the United States. Scott has enjoyed the opportunity to live in different parts of the country and learn the iterations of real estate law in each, including Colorado, Utah, Texas, Arizona, Florida and California.
He has been a part of Locklear Law for many years, contributing significantly to the firm’s efforts in cases involving employment, real property, fraud and bankruptcy law. The Firm’s attorneys consult often with Scott for his voice as the “reasonable person” when developing arguments as Scott tends to see things from all points of view.
He is the proud father of a son and grandfather to two beautiful grandchildren. When he's not sleuthing on a case, you can find him hanging out with his rescue dog “Jude”, or on the golf course improving his single digit handicap. He also has love for music and enjoys singing and playing his Martin guitar whenever he can.
